Bullet Train
There are many methods of transportation in China including car rental, train, subway, bullet trains (Shanghai), and taxis in almost every big city, so how do you determine which method of transportation is best for you?
Car Rental: Not recommended because of heavy traffic in big cities. Safer for children. Finding parking is very hard.
Train: Good method to travel from one city to another, if it is a considerably short distance. Most trains are kid-friendly and more comfortable than flights or car ride.
Taxi: Good for convenient and fast transportation to get somewhere in the city. Not recommended for long distance travel because of the soaring taxi prices.
Flying: Using trains for shorter distance between city to city is good, but for a longer distance, I would recommend flying.
Subway: Using the subway is very good for single or couple travelers. It is fast and easy, but not recommended for kids because of the over crowded subway stations and dangerous activities. Parents have been known to lose their children in subway stations, so if you are using a subway station and have kids, keep a close eye on them and never let go of their hand. Subways are also known to be more nauseous, especially for people with motion sickness.
